Extrusion barrel temperature control.

Heaters:

When you receive an extruder, the first action for temperature control is to check that the heaters are properly fastened to the barrel. When they are up to temperature it is best to check tightness again. To improve heater life significantly, set below 100 for 1 hour at start-up before entering the required temperature.

Thermocouples:

These should be in the thermocouple wells and must make permanent contact with the bottom of the well, using a spring-loaded system,.

Temperature controllers:

Use only PID temperature controllers. These reduce heat input as the temperature approach the set temperature. Preventing large temperature over-runs.
